Lifting Up Early Childhood
2019-2020, the ECA joined with 60 other partners in Evanston & Skokie to bring a three part series to the community. The series was titled “Lifting Up Early Childhood” and was composed of the following events:
The First 1,100 Days Last Forever: How Chicago Can Meet the Needs of Our Youngest Children;
A talk by former Erikson Institute president Geoff Nagle on the importance of Early Childhood and the great returns we can realize if we just invest in our youngest children.
No Small Matter;
One of the first feature documentary to explore the most overlooked, underestimated, and powerful force for good in America today: early childhood education. Through poignant stories and surprising humor, the film lays out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years, and reveals how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for American families, and a slow-motion catastrophe for the country.
